Peter G. Schmugge

Peter Schmugge (born October 27, 1966, died June 9, 2026) Peter Schmugge passed away suddenly at home. Peter was 59 years old and a life-long resident of Chicago, IL. He was the son of the late Robert Schmugge and Dolores (McGovern) Schmugge. He was a very loving brother of Mary (Schmugge) & Brian Stevens, Michael Schmugge, Jim and Laura Schmugge, Robert Schmugge Jr. and Joseph and Maureen Schmugge. Peter was a very loving uncle to Eileen and Becky Stevens and Joseph and Meaghan Schmugge. Pete will be missed by many friends and business associates who he enjoyed having the opportunity to share life with. Pete was the Executive Director of the Northwest Connection Chamber of Commerce (NWCCC). He was an involved and caring community member. He organized community and member events for the Chamber and was an individual that brought people together through his easy going nature. Pete graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor and Master’s Degree in History. He loved his beloved city of Chicago and knew a wealth of information about Chicago neighborhoods & history of the city. Pete was an enthusiastic music lover, especially blues and classic 1960s rock. He enjoyed listening to his CDs, records and going out to listen to live music. He was an avid CD and record collector. Pete was a caring person that loved his family and friends. He also was a beloved Cat Dad to Mama Mia, Kitty & Cubby. He enjoyed his city and taking care of the neighborhood cats. He loved Chicago. Peter was very loved and he will be missed.
